The Center offers rehabilitation teaching, technology training, employment services and communication services to promote personal and social independence for clients no matter the level of vision and/or hearing loss.

Quick Fact

The two most prevalent and least recognized disabilities in our community are vision loss and hearing loss. National and state organizations predict that in the next decade the number of individuals that will experience significant vision loss will triple. They also predict that the number to experience hearing loss will double.
      
In addition to the low vision clinic and hearing clinic,
the Center helps support individuals with vision or hearing loss live independently through the following programs or services:

  • Communication services: Sign language interpreters and video remote interpreting and C/ print
  • Vocational assistance, technical assessment, technology training and employer support
  • Home assessments & rehabilitation teaching
  • Life skills training (New Visions Classes)
  • Simple Solutions Store with adaptive hearing & vision support products
  • Social Activities and support groups
