The Center for Sight & Hearing has served northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin since 1962 helping individuals with a vision and/or hearing loss to live more independent lives. Offering services and solutions for all levels of impairment, the Center strives to be a resource for persons and families living with these two most prevalent and least recognized disabilities in our community.
Some of the many skills addressed by our services are:
  • Daily living skills, grooming and cooking, reading and math skills
  • Learn how to use computers, typewriter or keyboard
  • The use of technology for employment, development of job seeking skills and job placement assistance
  • Learning to solve problems with the assistance of counseling  
  • Orientation and mobility, help with traveling better at home, work place or in the community
  • Social and recreational programs with events and activities
