Lions Rose Day Sales begin Monday February 11th
Fourteen local Lions clubs announce the kick off the 55th annual rose Day ticket Sales to support the Center for Sight & Hearing and other club charitable activities.
Rockford Lions began selling roses to help raise matching funds for the development of an activity center for the Winnebago County Association of the Blind. The Center was opened in 1962 and is often referred to as “the house that roses built”.
The District 1-D Lions voted to make the Center a District project in 1969. Other area clubs joined in to sell roses to help support the Center. Today Rockford “Noon” Lions are joined by Rockford Breakfast Lions, Rockford Evening Lions, Rockford West Lions, Loves Park Lions, Roscoe Lions, Rockton Lions, Durand Lions, Winnebago Lions, Stillman Valley Lions, Monroe Center Lions, Kirkland Lions, Belvidere Lions and the Poplar Grove Lions.
Roses are $15 a dozen. They may be purchased from any of the local Lions Club Members, or at the Center for Sight & Hearing, to be delivered Saturday April 5th .
Attached is a card that may be down loaded and completed. Please note the club you wish to support at the top of the card. Fill in the information who the roses are to be delivered to and who is purchasing the roses, (print clearly and completely). Complete a card for each dozen roses and attach your check made out to the club you wish to support (please do not send cash).
